What is RHEMA?

RHEMA is a word, a place, and a worldwide family

  • A Word: RHEMA means “spoken word” in Greek
  • A Place: The RHEMA USA campus is located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. It is the home base for over 250 Rhema campuses located in 51 countries around the globe

What is RHEMA's purpose?

The mandate, “Go teach My people faith”, was given by God to Kenneth E. Hagin, the founder of RHEMA Bible Training College. Today his son, Kenneth W. Hagin, the school’s president, and daughter-in-law, Lynette Hagin, it’s director, carry out the mandate. And this mandate is cascaded throughout the worldwide RHEMA family.

Is RHEMA for me?

Yes! Whether you feel called to the full-time ministry or the ministry of helps or would simply like to study the Bible more in-depth, RHEMA is the school for you! While ministry training is an important part of RHEMA’s vision, our overall mission is to equip believers to live successfully and reach their world for Jesus Christ.

Our program is designed to see students grow stronger in their relationship with God. Simply put, you’ll come out a stronger believer, ready to accomplish whatever God has called you to do.

What makes Rhema different from other Bible Schools?

RHEMA is a school unlike any other! The moment you step into the school, you’ll sense the presence of the Holy Spirit and the spirit of faith that saturates the atmosphere. Just by being here, you will receive vital spiritual deposits.

Additionally, our unique blend of practical and supernatural training will give you a solid biblical foundation, enable you to learn how to hear the voice of God, and equip you for success in fulfilling everything God has called you to do.

Who attends Rhema?

Our students are from all walks of life and in all seasons of life and from churches of different denominations. Some have already started a career and/or family, some are students on school vacation and some are retired.

What are the modules offered?

Please refer to the course description for a description of the various modules offered by RHEMA.

Are the modules offered by local or oversees instructors?

We have a tremendous faculty of men and women who are anointed and passionate about teaching God’s Word. Please refer to Meet the Team for a brief introduction to our faculty of instructors.

What is the admission requirement for the Diploma program?

The requirements are as follows:

  • Acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Savior at least one year prior to application
  • Minimum entry age of 18;
  • Must be a Singapore citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident or have a valid work permit, S-Pass, Employment Pass, Dependent Pass or Student Pass
  • A satisfactory character reference from his/her pastor/local church;
  • An assessment by the school Director that the applicant is likely to successfully complete the course
  • Basic written and spoken English
How many years does it take to graduate from RHEMA?

As our Diploma program operates on a modular system, students can opt to start their course of study anytime in the year, except for the school breaks in June and December each year. The duration of the program is subject to the mode of study selected by the students.

For Full Time Class (Day Time): It will take 10 months to complete the program if the student attends classes consistently.
For Part-Time Class (Wednesday evenings/Saturday afternoons): An average of 10 modules will be scheduled for each calendar year. It will take the students about 4 years to complete the entire program.

Regardless of the choice on the mode of study, the students would have the flexibility to take a longer period to complete the Diploma program in the event if they miss any module(s) due to other commitments.

What is the class schedule?

The class schedule for the respective mode of study is as follows:

For Full-Time Class (Day Time):
Monday through Friday, 8.30am to 12.20pm
For Part Time Class (Wednesday evenings/Saturday afternoons):
Wednesday: 8.00pm to 9.50pm
Saturday: 2.00pm to 6.20pm or 7.20pm

Does RHEMA offer online courses?

No. RHEMA does not offer online courses. However, Kenneth Hagin Ministries, which is based in Tulsa, USA does offer an at-home correspondence school through which Bible study courses are completed by mail. RHEMA and RHEMA Correspondence Bible School are 2 separate schools with different purposes.

How much does it cost to attend Rhema?

The estimated cost for the full course is as follows:

  • One time registration fee of S$25.
  • Tuition fee is S$130 per module excluding the cost of textbooks. The total tuition fee for the full course is S$5,200 for 40 modules.
  • Textbooks are charged between 40% to 50% discount for students taking the module. The estimated cost of textbooks for the full course is S$550. Students are encouraged to buy your own textbooks for the purpose of completing your reading assignment for the module.
How do I make payment for the modules?

Students are advised to pay for the tuition fee for each module in advance so they can get the study guide and syllabus before the class starts.

Alternatively, students can choose to pay for more than one module in advance. Acceptable modes of payment include cash and cheque to be made payable to “RHEMA Bible Training Center Singapore” together with a completed payment form for each module.

Does Rhema offer financial assistance?

RHEMA offers a bursary to students on a case by case basis, covering tuition fee and/or cost of textbooks subject to RHEMA’s discretion. This bursary is made possible through the generous giving of our partners who shared RHEMA’s vision in equipping believers to live successfully and reach their world for Jesus Christ.

What is the enrollment procedure and documents required for foreign students?

Foreign students will require a valid pass to commence their studies with Rhema. A foreigner who holds a valid work permit, S-Pass, Employment and/or Dependent Pass may proceed with enrolment by completing and submitting the payment form together with the registration and tuition fee.

A foreigner who does not hold a valid work permit, S-Pass, Employment and/or Dependent Pass will be required to apply for a Student Pass prior to their arrival in Singapore. Please refer to Apply Now for details pertaining to the enrolment procedure and documents required for the application of Student Pass.

Does Rhema have a dormitory for foreign students?

RHEMA does not have a dormitory for foreign students. Most of our foreign students obtain housing through a wide range of housing options, ranging from landed properties to private and public housing.

Is there any translation provided for students whose first language is not English?

There is no translation of lessons to other languages. A foreign language/English dictionary may be used during classes/examinations by those whose first language is not English. In addition, students may consider the purchase of class recording and go through the lessons at their own convenience after completion of the module.

Can I take leave during the course?

Students will be required to seek prior approval from the RHEMA office via email for absence from classes. In the case of an emergency, students are required to inform the RHEMA office via phone call, followed by an email notification upon return to school. In the event, if the student is absent from class for more than 6 hours, the student would not be eligible for examination. The student will be required to sit in for the module again and to take the examination, still subject to fulfillment of the attendance requirement for examination.

Do I have to take examination for the modules?

Students will be required to take a written examination for each module. The types of examination questions include multiple choice and true/false questions.

What is the minimum criteria to sit for the examinations?

Students will be required to complete the module and not miss classes for more than 6 hours for the module.

How would I be graded for each module?

Grades are based on the written examination and; reading and/or written assignment scores earned by the students. It is required that a student take the examination and complete any required assignments for a module before credit is given.

What if I miss my examination?

It is the student’s responsibility to take the examination during the allotted time given. Assuming if you have met the attendance requirement for examination and if you have missed the examination due to an emergency, you will be required to notify RHEMA office of your reasons for absence via email and to take the examination within 2 weeks from the last day of the module.

Do I have to make payment for refresher class?

You will not be required to make payment for refresher class as long as you have completed the module successfully or if it is a re-sit to complete the examination for a particular module.

What qualification will I earn from completing all 40 modules offered by Rhema?

Students who complete all 40 modules will graduate with a Diploma in Christian Education. The graduation ceremony is held in end of May/early June each year.

Does RHEMA offer any practical training as part of the Diploma curriculum?

No. RHEMA’s program is focused on training the students to study the Bible more in-depth. For those who do feel called to the ministry, RHEMA offers a 3 months’ School of Ministry program for RHEMA Diploma graduate that provides specialized, practical training on preaching and teaching the Word of God.

Would I be qualified to work for a church or Christian organization or ministry with the Diploma?

We believe your training in RHEMA would help prepare you to serve in the church, society, and world, subject to the recruitment criteria of a church or Christian organization or ministry.

Is RHEMA accredited?

No. RHEMA has chosen not to seek accreditation by an accrediting agency. Instead, RHEMA’s program is subject to the rigors of review from RHEMA USA to ensure the quality and integrity of courses offered by RHEMA.

Can course credits earned at other accredited edu cational institutions be accepted as partial fulfillment of Rhema’s Diploma program requirement?

Only course credits earned at other RHEMA Bible schools within the global RHEMA family may be accepted as partial fulfillment of RHEMA’s Diploma program, subject to the school Director’s review and approval.

Can I visit the school before signing up for the courses?

Yes. You are welcome to visit the school year-round, Monday through to Friday, from 9 am to 4 pm.

Can I have a trial of the courses at Rhema?

Yes. First-timers may attend the 1-day trial class for free, either in the day time part-time (DTPT) or part-time (Wednesday evenings/Saturday afternoons) program.

Does RHEMA have a dress code?

RHEMA seeks to provide an atmosphere conducive to reverent study and to the development of strong Christian character. It is our desire that all of our students be dressed modestly and in good taste. Students will be provided with a guideline concerning dress code upon commencement of their studies with RHEMA.

What denomination is RHEMA?

We are “non-denominational”. Our beliefs are Charismatic, Pentecostal and Word of Faith based.

Does RHEMA offer ministerial licensing and/or ordination?

Yes. RHEMA offers licensing and ordination to qualified RHEMA graduates in full-time ministry. RHEMA Ministerial Association International (USA) is the credentialing body.

Does RHEMA organize any seminars or events?

Yes. You are welcome to join RHEMA’s Life in the Spirit Seminars and Open House events.
